Welcome to our first newsletter as Adelaide and St Levan Surgery.  As we told you in our last newsletter we were merging with St Levan Surgery on 1 October, this merger has happened and we are now working through all the formal processes required of a merger.

Why did we merge?

It is fair to say that the NHS is going through  a rocky patch and for Adelaide Surgery we felt that we needed to be part of a bigger organisation that would help maintain our resilience and ensure we are still here for you.  We have worked with St Levan Surgery for many years, they are very similar to us and we are very happy to be working with them.

Will there be changes?

Yes – but they will be for the better.  Most will be small changes about how we do things and the processes.  These will help us meet all the requirements of CQC and our commissioners.  It will also help us organise our NHS work and our clinical time.

Will you still be my surgery?

Yes.  We are Adelaide and St Levan Surgery and patients will remain linked to one site.  We may ask you to attend an appointment at our sister site but that will only be because they offer a service that we do not offer (so that will be good) or because we have staff on leave or off sick.  You should continue to contact us for all things.

We welcome Dr Chaudhary for the next 3 months whilst we advertise for a replacement for Dr Macready. We will continue to tell you about all changes as they happen, Liz Brimacombe the Managing Partner of both surgeries is very happy to talk to anyone about any questions or queries you may have.
